SACO — Claire Littlefield, 98, of Sun City, California, formerly of Saco, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, in Sun City, California.

She was born in Biddeford on Jan. 19, 1918, a daughter of William and Melina (Perreault) Binette. She attended St. Andre grammar school and Biddeford High School.

Claire was employed by Bates Manufacturing Co. for seven years.

On October 21, 1953, she married Robert O. Littlefield of Kennebunk. They resided in Saco, where Claire was a homemaker. She was a Girl Scout leader, a member of Saco Grange #53 and Pomona Grange, and a communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church.

In 1966, she and her husband moved to Anaheim, California, where they lived until 1986, when they moved to Sun City. While living there, she served as a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels Program for five years. She was also a member of St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, the Sun City Association and the Masonic Club Widows of Sun City.

Her hobbies included watercolor painting and traveling.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert O. Littlefield, on March 10, 1998; two sisters, Leonne Boucher and Fernande Reardon; and a brother, Leonard Binette.

She is survived by: a son, Paul E. Genthner of Monmouth, Oregon; a daughter, Maureen C. Genthner of Sun City, California; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Muriel Woodbury of Sanford; and several nieces and nephews.
