Passport Day in Scarborough
The town of Scarborough will hold its annual Passport Day in the council chambers at Town Hall on Saturday, March 5, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Staff from the Community Services Department will be on hand to accept passport applications and answer questions. The town does charge an agent fee for processing applications. See www.http://www.scarboroughmaine.org/departments/community-services for more information.
The federal government also provides passport information on its website www.travel.state.gov. Those with questions or an immediate need for a passport can also call the National Passport Information Center at 877-487-2778.
You don’t need to be a resident of Scarborough to have a passport application processed by the town.
Movie, workshop

The Scarborough Public Library is upcoming programs that are free and open to the public, including a screening of the Academy Award-winning film, “Bridge of Spies,” on Monday, March 7, at 1:30 p.m.
A dramatic thriller, this movie tells the story of James Donovan, a Brooklyn lawyer portrayed by Tom Hanks, who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him to complete the near-impossible task of negotiating the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. Mark Rylance won the best supporting actor Oscar for his performance in the movie.
The Scarborough Writers Workshop meet Tuesday, March 8, at 5:45 p.m. Aspiring and published authors are welcome to share works and receive constructive feedback.
Land trust to host annual meeting
The Scarborough Land Trust will host its annual meeting at Camp Ketcha on Wednesday, March 9, at 7 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public and includes a presentation, “Food, Farms and our Travels Abroad,” by John Bliss and Stacy Brenner, who run the land trust’s Broadturn Farm. See www.scarboroughlandtrust.org or call 289-1199 for more information.
Nighttime owl walk offered
The Cape Elizabeth Land Trust will hold a nighttime owl walk on Thursday, March 10, at 7 p.m., at several locations around town. The event will start with a half-hour information session at the land trust’s office, located at 330 Ocean House Road.
After carpooling to sites that will include Robinson Woods and Crescent Beach, the various groups will use an audiotape of owl calls and walk quietly while trying to locate owls by sounds and sight.
Participants should bring a flashlight, wear quiet walking shoes or boots and be prepared to stand outdoors quietly for 10 to 20 minutes at a time. Participants must be 16 years or older.

Concert at CEHS
Music students at Cape Elizabeth High School will put on a concert featuring the Concert Choir, the Concert Jazz Ensemble, the Symphony Band and the Wind Symphony, Thursday, March 10, at 7 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public and will be held in the high school auditorium.

The Scarborough Land Trust will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, March 9. The guest speakers will be John Bliss and Stacy Brenner, who run Broadturn Farm.

The Cape Elizabeth Land Trust is offering a special Owl Walk on Thursday, March 10.
