From the Journal Tribune: “For those who are concerned for the future of parking in a city that intends to grow, city officials are still working to create a long-range plan for parking downtown. Preliminary data and future plans for the ongoing parking and traffic study were discussed last Thursday evening at a meeting in the Heart of Biddeford office. Engineering’s have been analyzing the flow of traffic through downtown center. From data collected at numerous intersections, they were able to estimate that the peak of traffic hours in Biddeford’s downtown seem to fall between the hours of 3 and 4 p.m.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Mrs. Carrie Anthony of Jenkins Road, Saco is being held for observation at Webber Hospital after she was struck by a car at 7:20 a.m. today in the parking lot of Lunder Shoe Co. on Park St., Saco. According to the Saco police, Donald P. Lapierre, 18, of 16 Emery St., Biddeford was backing his car when contact was made with the woman. Lapierre told police he did not see Mrs. Anthony because he was blinded by the sun. An employee of the shoe company took the woman to the hospital.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Four deputy sheriffs forced an entrance to the home of Mrs. Deliuna Rogers at 61 Hill Street Tuesday evening between 8 and 9 o’clock and Deputy Granville H. Murphy claims to have caught the women in an act of running from the dining room into a chamber where she jumped on a bed, putting a bottle containing 12 ounces of whisky behind a picture which hung from the wall. Mrs. Rogers is to be arraigned in court Friday morning on a search and seizure charge.”
