A display by Helen Plummer, entitled “One Woman’s Quilts,” will take place Sunday, March 20, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Scarborough Historical Museum. Suggested donation is $5.

Plummer has enjoyed crafts and has made quilts of traditional designs, such as log cabin and crazy quilts with 100-percent cotton fabric, as well as non-traditional quilts of pillowtops and handkerchiefs. She has used upholstery, wool, velour, double knit and denim fabrics. Some of the quilts contain flour bag cloth. One of the tops was quilted on sugar bags.

The show will display 41 quilts, tops, coverlets and hangings that she created during a 20-year period. She has made and given away a number of her quilts, but most were packed away and never used. This is the first time that they will be shown together.
