With the return of Daylight Saving Time, the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust is reminding dog walkers at Robinson Woods that times pets can be off leash are back to before 10 a.m. and after 4 p.m. daily
Family Fun Day panel seeks input
Cape Elizabeth’s Family Fun Day Committee is meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, at the Community Center and is looking for new members, input and new ideas for the annual summer festival.
Family Fun Day is a day of games, activities music and food at Fort Williams Park. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, June 18. The challenge for the committee is to make this year’s event even better than prior years. Contact Frank Butterworth at [email protected] for more information.
Lions cooking spaghetti supper
The Cape Elizabeth Lions Club will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner on Saturday, March 19, from 5-7 p.m., at the clubhouse, located at the intersection of Two Lights and Wheeler roads.
On the menu is spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, dessert and soft drinks. Diners can also bring their own alcoholic drinks. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Contact John Ney at 767-2079 or jney@shslawfi rm.com for more information.
Fraud prevention workshop offered
On Thursday, March 24, at 2 p.m., a fraud prevention workshop aimed at helping local seniors protect themselves and their assets will be held at the Cape Elizabeth Fire Station. Contact Police Officer David Galvan at 767-3323, ext. 208 for more information.
Mad Horse opens ‘Digby’s Home’
“Digby’s Home,” by Brent Askari, opens at the Mad Horse Theatre Company, 24 Mosher St., South Portland on Thursday, March 24, and runs through April 10.
The show tells the story of Digby Preston, an aspiring comic, who comes back to his small New England town after his first national television appearance, hoping to finally gain the validation he never received growing up. But, things don’t quite work out as planned.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, except for the first Thursday, which is at 8 p.m. The theater also offers Sunday matinees at 2. On the second Sunday the show will be followed by a talk-back session with the actors, the playwright and the director.

‘The Crucible’ opens at Portland Players
“The Crucible,” Arthur Miller’s famous play about the impact of the witch trials in Salem, Mass., opens on Friday, March 25, at the Portland Players, 420 Cottage Road, South Portland. It will run through Sunday, April 10. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $15 for students and kids.

Cape seeks bottle shed applications
The town of Cape Elizabeth will accept applications from local nonprofits for bottle shed proceeds through 4 p.m. on Friday, March 25. The first distribution of funds will be made in April, followed by the annual allocations in the fall.
Organizations are asked to submit an application explaining their mission and how the funds will be used. Funds will be awarded based on need and will not exceed $2,000 per allocation.
