TOPSHAM
A Sam’s Italian sandwich shop will be coming to Topsham, and will be occupying the former Tim Hortons building on Route 196 that closed in November.
The Maine-owned company’s marketing coordinator, Stephanie Bouchard, said Sam’s hopes to be open at 5 Horton Place by late spring or early summer.
Construction began the week before, Bouchard said on Friday.
“We’ve been looking for buildings in Topsham now for a long time,” said Bouchard.
The location is appealing because it is near a residential area and on a road heavily used by commuters. There is also direct to Route 196.
“We are very excited and we’ve heard a lot of good feedback from the town,” she said.
Bouchard estimated the store will generate approximately
10 to 15 positions that still need to be filled. A job fair will be held at the restaurant Wednesday at 3 p.m. Job-seekers may also call to schedule an interview at (207) 782-2550.
Founded in 1939 and based in Lewiston, Sam’s Italian Foods has 13 restaurants in Maine — including Brunswick, Freeport and Lisbon.
