Central Maine Orthopaedics  and OA Centers for Orthopaedics, divisions of Spectrum Medical Group, have added Dr. Matthew Perkowski to their teams. Perkowski specializes in interventional pain medicine and the non-surgical management of spinal disorders.

The Maine Irish Heritage Center in Portland has named P. Vincent “Vinny” O’Malley as the Center’s interim executive director. The son of Irish immigrants from County Galway, O’Malley grew up in Portland’s West End.

Giving back

The People’s United Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of People’s United Bank, has awarded $6,500 to The Opportunity Alliance’s Keep ME Warm Fund, an emergency heating assistance program.

Nosh Kitchen Bar and Slab Sicilian Street Food in Portland have partnered with The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital for the month of March by contributing a minimum of $10,000 or 5 percent of their sales to the hospital.

Milestones

Pet pharmaceutical company Putney, Inc., which focuses on the development and sale of generic prescription medicines for pets, celebrated 10 years of growth and achievement since it was founded by Jean Hoffman.
