BOSTON (AP) — Authorities in Massachusetts are increasing security measures after explosions killed dozens at an airport and subway station in Brussels.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority said Tuesday that staff will be “stepping up their vigilance and visibility” with transit police posted at stations and platforms.
Republican Gov. Charlie Baker told reporters he had a 2p.m.call with security and law enforcement officials, including those at the airport, the MBTA and the Port of Boston. He said no credible threats had been received.
Nevertheless, state police say they’ve increased patrols near transportation centers and are monitoring information related to the terror attacks.
Logan Airport’s operator declined to discuss specific security measures but said in a statement they’re “multi layered and constantly evolving.”
