Scarborough — Gary Paul McCourt, a gregarious Irishman, of Scarborough, son of Laura McCourt of Brunswick and the late Nelson McCourt, lost his courageous battle with brain cancer in his home on Tuesday, March 22, at the age of 62. Gary was a graduate of Brunswick High School, attended Thomas College and earned a culinary arts degree from SMVTI.

Cindy Vincent was the love of Gary’s life. Together they created a lifetime of family and memories over their 34 years. Gary was a lifelong lover of music and has passed his love on to his son, Justin Vincent, and his two grandsons, Jackson and Tucker.

Gary has four brothers; James, Charles, Mark and wife Becky, Steven McCourt and a much loved daughter-in-law Gillian Vincent. He leaves an extended family with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and his special Aunt Rita Bennett and Uncle Paul McCourt.

Gary was the life of the party and considered himself an extremely rich man due to his many caring friends. Whether he met them as neighbors, in his 24 years working at F. Parker Reidy’s, Hannaford, or most recently at Piper Shores, they always held a place in his heart. The family would especially like to thank all of his loving friends for their support, enabling him to continue to live his life his way until the end. No one could meet Gary and forget him. He was well loved and will be long remembered.

A service will be held on Monday, March 28, at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Rd. in Scarborough at 11 am. There will be a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Maine Cancer Society, 170 US Rte 1, Ste 250, Falmouth, ME 04105-2512. Online condolences may be shared at: www.hobbsfuneralhome.com.
