BRUNSWICK
Brunswick police responded to a crash early Sunday morning and ended up charging the driver with operating under the influence.
The crash was reported on the northbound on ramp to Interstate 295 just before 3 a.m. Sunday. Brunswick Police Cmdr. Marc Hagan said police found a silver Chrysler Aspen down an embankment in the woods, but nobody was in the vehicle.
Police initially called for Maine State Police to respond with a K9 to assist with the search for the driver and any passengers.
“We could hear somebody in the woods,” he said.
Police, however, found the owner of the vehicle, 35-year-old Erica Pulsoni of Brunswick a short distance away from the crash.
Pulsoni was taken to the police station where Hagan said she failed a sobriety test. She was arrested and charged with operating under the influence.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
