From the Journal Tribune: “The initial site plan for upgrades to a local religious landmark was approved by the Planning Board Wednesday night. Representatives for St. Ann’s Episcopal Church, located on Ocean Avenue, have proposed structural upgrades to the church tower, including underpinning beneath the ground for correct stabilization.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Fire Chief Louis R. Wharff said today that a revision of a public law concerning the use of outdoor incinerators is effective now and will be enforced. This law, under Title 25, section 2436-A revised statutes, 1965 states that any person who wishes to burn debris must obtain permits for this as well as for the burning of grass and brush.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Young Steve Travers of this city was given the small end in his bout with Teddy Murphy of Boston in the semi-final bout at Coldbrook hall, Sanford. It was a fast contest and the Biddeford lad made the Boston youngster go some while they were at it.”
