OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Gordon Clemens, 72, died suddenly on April 8, 2016, after a short, courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Weld on Sept. 10, 1943, the youngest child of John and Ethel (Vining) Clemens.
Gordon was married for 52 years to the love of his life, Randee (Baker) Clemens of Wilton.
Gordon was a master carpenter, building a legacy of beautiful homes across York County. Additionally, he worked for over 35 years at Bayley’s Campground in Scarborough, semi-retiring in 2007 and continuing to work there until March 2016.
He loved hunting and fishing with his friends. He enjoyed photographing and painting wildlife and nature landscapes. He was always there with a helping hand, quick to smile, and ready to laugh.
Gordon was a long-time member of the Camp Ellis Rod & Gun club.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Gordon is survived by: his beloved wife, Randee Clemens of Old Orchard Beach; his son, Sam Clemens and wife Kathy, and two grandsons, Taylor and Chad, all of Las Vegas.
A celebration of life and times will be held at noon Saturday, July 30, on Bayley Hill in Scarborough.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service, Buxton. Online condolence messages can be submitted at mainefuneral.com.
