BIDDEFORD — Twelve students in the Biddeford High School Video Production class accepted a hands-on project working with Hygrade Business Group. The business in Saco sought out the students to create three videos needed for the Maine Bankers Association Expo and, in return, the students gained real-world learning experience.
The students were provided a brief outline and then given the creative independence to stage films that demonstrated problems and solutions to various bank-related issues. They utilized student actors, practiced their editing skills, posted on YouTube for proofing and incorporated their videos onto an augmented reality app.
The three videos produced were focused on print management, promotional products and digital 1:1 marketing. They will be linked to an app at the trade show in which participants will be given iPads to hover over images which play one of the videos related to their needs. The videos can be viewed on YouTube at http://bit.ly/1qa4PIb.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
