From the Journal Tribune: “Almost 600,000 salmon fry recently moved into feeding troughs at the Saco River Salmon Club Hatchery, a non-profit volunteer organization at Marblehead Boat Landing. The fish arrived as eyed eggs in late January and spent three months developing into sack fry in small trays.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “In observance of National Library Week, the Kennebunk Library has completed plans for an open house to be conducted Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with refreshments to be served. This year’s library week theme is ‘Read, Read, Read Keep Growing,’ and a program along these lines has been prepared at the local library.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Lewis Lacombe, the West Kennebunk man who was ordered held for the grand jury in the sum of $1,000 on a warrant charging him with assault with a dangerous weapon … was taken to Alfred jail today. … William Guay, the victim of Lacombe, who was cut in a number of places … is reported as suffering a great deal from his wounds.”
