How far would you go to save a life? Would you donate your gently used clothes or household items?

Will you be Spring Cleaning soon? Do you have items that have been sitting in your house for a long time that you’ve been meaning to get rid of ? If the answer to any of these is yes, than why not donate them to The Salvation Army and be our partner in Doing The Most Good?

For more than 100 years, The Salvation Army has been providing assistance to people with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions through its over 100 United States-based Adult Rehabilitation Centers. The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center ministries in the United States provide an in-residence rehabilitation program with a focus on basic necessities. Each program participant receives a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, spiritual direction and the resources needed to develop life skills and a personal relationship with God.

Since the ARC doesn’t solicit government funding, the ministry runs solely on the generosity of individuals, organizations and businesses who donate goods to be sold in the Family Stores (formerly known as Thrift Stores). Proceeds from their sale go toward providing important services for the program participants, helping them get back on their feet and live a productive life.

Please consider making a donation today by calling 800-SATRUCK for a free pickup. Or drop your donation at a store, donation center or donation box near you. Boxes are located throughout the MidCoast Region and can be found at Doherty’s North Freeport Store, Freeport Transfer Station, and Topsham Transfer Station or visit our Donation Center located at 127 Pleasant St. in Brunswick. Contact Bil Moriarty, donation development coordinator, at (207)878-8555 ext. 308.
