From the Journal Tribune: “Firefighters Wednesday afternoon put out a blaze at a private home at 98 Flag Pond Road. Fire Department Capt. Mare Paquette said 25 firefighters from Saco, Biddeford and Scarborough answered the 1:59 p.m. call and arrived at the burning home of Raymond Huff at 2:08 p.m.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Due to school vacation this week the meeting of the Saco Squadron, Civil Air Patrol was held at the home of Cadet C2 Philip Trudeau, 22 Vernon St., Saco, last night, when plans were made for an overnight hike Friday and Saturday.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “According to some of the democratic members of the Biddeford city council, there will be something doing on the programme at Monday night’s adjourned meeting for city fathers, when the list of firemen for the fire department will be presented for approval, by the members of the joint standing committee on fire department to whom was referred the list presented by Chief Engineer Frank A. Cantara.”
