AUGUSTA (AP) — A Maine government survey says the average statewide price for heating has held steady over the last month.
The Governor’s Energy Office says the average price for heating oil according to the April 18 survey was $1.73 per gallon. The average prices for kerosene and propane have also held steady at $2.28 and $2.23 per gallon.
The office says the average price per gallon for heating oil during this heating season was down 35 percent from last year’s average.
The highest heating oil price on April 18 was $2.15 in eastern Maine and the lowest was $1.45 in western and southwestern Maine.
