FREEPORT — On May 16 at 6:30 p.m., Jon Wallace returns to Freeport Community Library for his third educational presentation. This evening’s presentation will help us learn about binoculars, telescopes and other eyepieces used to explore and investigate the world.
Wallace was an award-winning high school science teacher in Meriden, Connecticut for more than 32 years. He is past president of the Connecticut Association of Physics Teachers and was an instructor in Wesleyan University’s Project ASTRO program. He has managed the Naugatuck Valley Community College observatory and run many astronomy classes and training sessions throughout Connecticut. Wallace also served on the Board of the Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers, is currently the Education Coordinator for SARA having helped develop teaching materials for SARA and the NRAO (National Radio Astronomy Observatory) for use with their IBT (Itty-Bitty radio Telescope.)
