The Westbrook American reported on May 2, 1956, John E. Johnson of Little Falls observed his 84th birthday at a family party. 

Suzanne Porell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Porell of Saco Street, was selected as “Miss Westbrook of 1956.”
