TOPSHAM
The public gets a chance to weigh in on a 13- unit residential subdivision at the end of Homeplace as part of a proposal before the Topsham Planning Board for final approval tonight.
The Glades Above Homeplace project proposed by Thomas Bethea consists of 13 single family dwelling units on 36 acres of undeveloped land. Included in the proposal is 2.73 acres of open space.
A public hearing is scheduled on the application during the meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. at the municipal building.
The project would comply with the town’s dead-end road requirement by connecting Homeplace and Somerset Place. Abutters have argued vehicles will use the new road connection as a shortcut between Middlesex Road to Foreside Road.
Bethea received preliminary subdivision approval on July 7, 2015.
The Planning Board will also review a site plan proposed by Rick Pontes of Pontes Marine Service for construction of 90-foot-by-97-foot boat building at 227 Lewiston Road.
The town has a shoreland permit application before the board as well for a proposed stream crossing bridge at the Town Landing Trail off Town Landing Road.
