The invasion of Okinawa, where they were struck by two kamikaze which put the Bunker Hill out of Commission until the end of the war. When he got home from the war he built a new Lobster boat but it was destroyed by a Noreaster so he worked as an electrician at Bath Iron Works for ten years and lobstered part time. Then he was able to get back full time to what he loved Fishing. He enjoyed any type of commercial fishing. He went tuna fishing, ground fishing with his son Granville Jr, tub trawling, tending mackerel pound but his favorite was lobstering. He held a lobster license for 70 years. He attended Westpoint school until his love of the sea called him there. He was a dedicated family man and loved spending time with family. Sunday dinners were big at the Wallace family home . He enjoyed telling stories of his days in the Navy and history of the families of Westpoint and most of all the love of fishing. Just last month he was in the National Fisherman Magazine with his son and grandson. Three generations of Lobstermen. He has left a legacy that his family will treasure.
