WELLS — Doris “Dot”

Woodman, 87, of Wells, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, the Greenwood Center in Sanford.

Dot was born Nov. 9, 1928, to Wesley and Evelyn

Simpson) Fraser in Sanford, where she grew up and attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 1946. In 1947, she married Lloyd “Red” Woodman, and together they raised one daughter and shared nearly 69 years of marriage.

Dot was always a very hard-working woman. Throughout her life, she and her husband owned and operated numerous businesses, including the Jerry Lewis Twin Cinemas and Rosa’s Deli, which they founded.

Dot enjoyed reading, cooking, going to the beach and spending time at her summer home on Drakes Island. She also enjoyed traveling to various places with her husband, including Florida and Las Vegas.

Dot loved being around her family, especially her granddaughter and greatgrandchildren. One of the great joys of Dot’s life was spending time with her late daughter, Gail Nevison. They were inseparable, and were together whenever they had a chance.

She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Dot was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Nevison.

She is survived by: her husband, Red Woodman of Wells; her granddaughter, Lori Hayden and her husband Charles of Lebanon; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Libby Hayden of Lebanon; her brother, Gordon Fraser and his wife Dian of Sanford; two nephews, Brian Fraser and his wife Marilyn of Sanford and Jason Fraser and his companion Ruby LaBrecque of Sanford; and two great-nieces, Erin and Nicole Fraser of Sanford.

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, followed by a funeral service at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.
