
Brunswick scored three of the first four goals of the second half and held on down the stretch for a 9-8 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference victory over Oxford Hills in girls high school lacrosse action on Thursday.
Amelia Hawley had three goals for the 1-3 Dragons, while Colleen McKearney added a pair of scores. Anna Callahan, Ashley Alexander, Jenna Bailey and Emily Coffin added a goal each in the win. In goal, Mikaela Aschbrenner turned aside 13 shots.
Brunswick is slated to visit Messalonskee at Thomas College in Waterville on Monday at 5 p.m.

Three players scored two goals each as the Shipbuilders downed Winslow, 8-3, in a KVAC matchup at Thomas College.
Madison Savary, Maddie Olsen and Isabelle Paulus put two in the cage apiece, with Paige Daigle and Noa Sreden picking up a goal each. Savary, Olsen, Amanda Gagne and Mae Winglass chipped in an assist apiece.
Morse (3-0) visits Gardiner on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

In a low-scoring affair at Lewiston, the Blue Devils (4-0) held off the Eagles, who fell to 0-3 and hosts Edward Little on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Lewiston received a goal each from Tawni Zamrock, Erin Lachance and Christine Elisman, while goaltender Kaylyn Labonte turned away nine shots.
For Mt. Ararat, Emily Welch and Ronni Pelletier scored, with netminder Eleanor Skinner making six saves.

TOPSHAM — Westbrook held Mt. Ararat to a firstquarter goal in a 13-1 victory on Thursday.
The Eagles fell to 1-4 and hosts Edward Little today at 4 p.m.
Nick Canter had the lone Mt. Ararat goal, with Steve Schuman picking up an assist.
