Standish can expect one contested race in the municipal elections to be held on June 14.
Greg Sirpis, a member of the Board of Appeals, and William Orr are running for a single at-large, three-year term on the Town Council. Orr was among seven residents to run for three seats on the council in 2014.
There are no candidates running for three open seats on the Budget Committee, nor for a single vacant Planning Board seat. According to Town Clerk Mary Chapman, the council will make appointments for the vacant seats until the next election in accordance with the Town Charter. The appointed members will not serve a full three-year term unless elected.
Michael Delcourt is running uncontested for the Area 3 Town Council seat. Steven Nesbitt, who was appointed to the at-large seat on the council until 2016, will run uncontested for another one-year term on the council.
On the Planning Board, incumbent Carol Billington is running for a three-year Area Four seat and Cynthia Beckwith is running for a one-year Area Three seat.
Alan Dube, Paul Mosley, and Philip Pomerleau are running for three positions on the Board of Directors for Maine School Administrative District Area 6.
