CAMDEN HILLS
The Brunswick High School girls softball team scored nine runs during the fourth and fifth innings en route to a 13-9 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Camden Hills on Friday.
The Dragons earned their first win to improve to 1-7 and hosts Cony today at 4 p.m.
Brunswick’s offense collected 11 hits and the Dragons stole 12 bases.
“We put a lot of pressure on Camden Hills’ defense throughout the contest with our running game. That design proved to be the catalyst to the win,” stated Brunswick coach Hugh Dwyer.
Shea Sullivan and Emily Girardin each had three hits, while Allie Eck had two hits, stole four bases and scored three runs.
Brunswick led 3-2 through three innings, but used the big fourth and fifth innings in building a big advantage. Sullivan had two doubles and drove in four runs.
Laticia Billings had two hits, including a two-run triple for Camden (0- 8).

Kirsten Pelletier stroked a home run and added a double as Messalonskee (6-0) captured a KVAC win over Brunswick on Thursday.
Pelletier tossed a one-hitter while striking out 11 and walking one.
Madisyn Charest added a pair of hits and two RBIs in the win.

LAWRENCE 2
The Eagles scored four runs in the fifth inning to break up a scoreless tie for a KVAC win over Lawrence on Friday.
Alana Weaver was 4- for-4 at the plate and earned the mound win with five strikeouts, one walk and five hits allowed. Katelyn Cox was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI, with Sara Lamb and Kelsey Scannevin picking up two hits each. Kate Guerin drove in a pair with a fifth-inning single, while Zoe Stilphen singled and brought home two more runs.
Lilly Herrin struck out one for the Bulldogs. Haley Holt doubled in a run in the sixth. for-4 at the plate and earned the mound win with five strikeouts, one walk and five hits allowed. Sydney Ames out-dueled Mt. Ararat’s Alana Weaver as the visiting Indians captured a KVAC win at Topsham on Saturday.
Ames struck out four, walked seven and permitted just three hits for the win. Weaver was solid as well, striking out four and giving up seven hits. She did not walk a batter.
Skowhegan jumped on top in the first inning as Wylie Bedard drove in Eliza Bedard with a double.
The Indians doubled their lead in the second on an RBI single by Julia Steeles, scoring Sydney Reed.
Kate Guerin doubled for Mt. Ararat, with Belle Benner and Kelsey Scannevin each singled.
The Eagles (4-3) visit Hampden Academy today at 4 p.m.
MADISON 9
LISBON 1
Bulldogs pitcher Madelyn Wood struck out eight in leading Madison to a Mountain Valley Conference win on Friday over Lisbon.
Wood was stellar at the plate as well, going 3-for-5 and scoring a pair of runs. Ally LeBlanc had two doubles and Erin Whalen singled twice and scored three times.
Brittany Norman was 3-for-4 with two singles and a triple to pace Lisbon’s eight-hit attack. Jasmin Le chipped in two singles.
Greyhounds pitcher Alyssa Hall allowed 14 hits and walked two with two strikeouts.
MONMOUTH 0
LISBON 6
The Greyhounds bounced back on Saturday as Hall pitched a shutout to give Lisbon a 5-2 mark heading into to today’s home contest with Dirigo at 4 p.m.
Hall struck out five, walked two and allowed just two hits.
Ali Sult singled twice in the win, with Carly Drischler adding a single and a double.
Emily Chase took the loss for Monmouth, and Hannah Anderson had a pair of hits (double, triple).
MARANACOOK 9
MORSE 2
The visiting Black Bears scored three runs in the second inning to break a 2-2 tie for a KVAC win at Bath.
Morse fell to 3-3 and will host Medomak Valley today at 4 p.m.
Justia Merrill launched two home runs for Maranacook and added a single. Lindsey Hilton also had three hits, including a double.
Paige Loster struck out four and walked one for the win.
Hope Faulkingham lifted a home run for Morse in the first inning, while Meghan Stover chipped in two singles. Adding a single each were Marissa Parks, Sierra Wallace and Micailah Albertson.
Parks struck out seven and walked two on the mound.
FREEPORT 8

The Falcons won game one of a Saturday Western Maine Conference doubleheader, as Morgan Karnes belted out three hits.
Freeport trailed 4-1 after five, but tied the game in the sixth and scored four runs in the seventh to take control.
Bailey Karnes chipped in two hits and three RBIs in the win, while Briana Welch and Megan Cormier each added a pair of singles.
Tiffany Leclerc singled twice for the Sea Gulls.

FREEPORT 19
Freeport plated eight runs in the second inning to sweep the doubleheader, improving to 3-5. The Falcons visit Fryeburg Academy today at 4 p.m.
Morgan Karnes belted a home run and drove in three runs, while Bailey Karnes, Abby Koenig, Eb Weist and Welch had two hits apiece.
Marisa Hawlett-Brown singled twice for 0-6 Old Orchard Beach.
