PORTLAND — A team to lead the redesign of Congress Square will be selected this week, city spokeswoman Jessica Grondin said Tuesday.

The selection comes after a May 4 forum at the Portland Museum of Art where Michael Boucher Landscape Architecture of Freeport; Yarmouth-based Terry DeWan & Associates, in collaboration with Olin Studio of Philadelphia; Boston-based CRJA–IBI, and WRT of Philadelphia each pitched their qualifications and goals for the project.

Redesign study work for Congress Square, extending from the museum to the Portland Westin Harborview Hotel and encompassing the intersection of High, Congress and Free streets, could begin in August, Grondin said.

More information about the firms’ presentations can be found online at the city website.
