MANCHESTER, N.H.
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (13-17) bashed 13 hits en route to an 8-1 Eastern League victory over the Portland Sea Dogs (10-22) on Tuesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
The Sea Dogs tied a season high by committing five errors in the game.
New Hampshire scored an unearned run in the first on an RBI groundout by Jon Berti and never trailed. Ian Parmley added an RBI double in the fourth to make it 2- 0.
The Sea Dogs scored their lone run of the game in the fourth. After a double by Wendell Rijo to lead off the frame, Tzu-Wei Lin delivered a double down the leftfield line to score Rijo.
Ty Buttrey allowed six runs (four earned) on seven hits, walking none and striking out three. Jeremy Gabryszwski went six innings and allowed one run on five hits, walking none and striking out five. Jason Berken earned the save by pitching the final three innings scoreless and allowing just one hit.
Portland and New Hampshire were scheduled to conclude the series this morning at 10:35 a.m.
The Sea Dogs return home Thursday to open an eight-game homestand, facing off against the Binghamton Mets.
