BREWER (AP) — Maine State Police say two state troopers have been involved in crashes in the last two days while responding to calls.
A trooper and the driver of another vehicle were injured in a crash in Brewer on Wednesday afternoon. Police say the trooper was responding to a domestic violence call at the time of the crash and the cruiser struck and broke a utility pole.
The crash happened a day after an Appleton woman suffered minor injuries when her car and a cruiser collided.
Police say Trooper Jeremy Wesbrock was heading to a crash in Searsmont and attempted to pass a car operated by 52-year-old Lisa Ford just as Ford was turning into her driveway.
Police said the cruiser sideswiped Ford’s car and both vehicles ended up off the road.
