LEWISTON — The Brunswick Junior High School baseball team played a pair of games recently, falling 8-7 to Lewiston and 3-2 to Oxford Hills.
In the first game, Brunswick (1-3) scored four runs in the third inning on RBI singles from Scout Masse, Owen Richardson, Coenradt Taylor and Cam Hathaway, who drove in Masse for a run in the second inning. Adam Nussbaum had two hits.
On the mound, Taylor, Noah Goddard and Masse combined for six hits, eight strikeouts and eight walks.
Lewiston posted seven runs in the first inning on three singles, two walks, two errors and a triple.
In game two, Goddard went the distance on the mound, giving up just two hits while walking three and fanning five.
The Huskies’ offense was led by Liam Hembers, who singled in a run in the fifth inning. Deven Cameron tacked on an RBI sacrifice fly in the third, while Matty LaForge and Goddard each had one hit.
Henry Burnham and Owen Richardson played well on defense for Brunswick.
