From the Journal Tribune: “The Old Orchard Beach School Board eliminated or reduced seven faculty and staff positions Thursday to bring the proposed 2007 school budget into line. The cuts permit the school board to meet the $9.1 million budget set by Town Manager Jim Thomas, said Superintendent Eric Matthews after Thursday’s session at Old Orchard Beach High School.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Jonathan A. Hodgen, 21, of Scarborough was released from Webber Hospital last night after he received treatment for a sprained arm suffered in an accident on Beach Street, Saco at 7 p.m. According to Saco police, Hogdon passed another car on a curve near the railroad bridge and lost control of his vehicle on the wet pavement and crashed into a utility pole at the corner of Hall Avenue. Major front-end damage was caused to the vehicle but no estimate was given to the police.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Four boats which were tied up at moorings in the vicinity of the wharves before the freshet Wednesday, were missing today. It is not known whether they were sunk or had gone out to sea.”
