BRUNSWICK — In recent Brunswick Cal Ripken baseball action, Bowdoin slipped by the 99 Restaurant Diamondbacks, 8-7, in walk-off fashion.
In a back and forth game, Gage Mitchell and Lukas Holman each had a double and single for Bowdoin, while Jay Kearney, Tucker Swanson, Casey D’Orio, Ben Millson and Izaak Cottle each scrapped out hits.
The Diamondbacks were led by AJ Wolverton and Kevin Connolly with a home run each. Jacob Keef slammed a double, and Luke Vazdauskas and Jack Poulin each contributed with hits for the D-Backs.
Tanner Rapoza pitched well for the D-Backs, allowing only two runs in three innings.
In more action, the D-Backs rolled to a 10-1 win over Topsham 1.
The D-Backs were led by Brian Connolly with a triple and two singles, and Wolverton had a triple and a single. Gus Silverman contributed two singles, and Rapoza and Diego Aguilar chipped in with a hit apiece.
Wolverton and Mason Richardson pitched a gem for the D-Backs.
For Topsham, Ty Henke had a double and a single, and Kobe Clark doubled and scored.
