BOSTON (AP) — David Ortiz went 4 for 4 with a solo home run and a double that sent a fan flying, Jackie Bradley Jr. extended his hitting streak to 27 games and the Boston Red Sox beat the Cleveland Indians, 5-2 for its 10th win in 14 games.

Bradley singled in the fifth inning and has the longest hitting streak in the majors since a 28-gamer by Colorado’s Nolan Arenado in 2014.

Ortiz drove in three runs. His RBI double in the second put the Red Sox ahead 3-2, and when the ball bounced over Boston’s bullpen, a fan came charging from his seat and fell into a fence trying to retrieve the souvenir. Ortiz was a triple short of a cycle when another ground-rule double bounced into the bullpen near the center-field triangle.

Rick Porcello (7-2) allowed two runs and five hits in 5 2/3 innings, and Craig Kimbrel got three outs for his 12th save.

The Red Sox made Cleveland starter Danny Salazar work and then they made him pay.

“It’s pretty special,:” Bradley said about the Red Sox offensive surge. “Guys who are swinging the bat are relentless. I think it just goes to say that every single person’s buying in, sticking with their approach and trying to be a tough out.”

Ortiz’s home run extended Boston’s team streak to 21 games with at least one home run in a game, a team record.

Needing a triple for a cycle, Ortiz sent a pitch from Austin Adams to the center-field triangle in the eighth. The crowd roared with anticipation of a possible three-base hit, but the baseball rattled around the wall and bounced into the stands for his second ground-rule double.

Salazar (4-3, 2.32 ERA) toiled through 40 pitches in the first, marking the most he had thrown in a single frame in his career. The early troubles paved the way for a two-run opening inning for the Red Sox,.
