ST. ALBANS ( AP) — Police say the death of a 4- year- old boy found in a man- made pond not far from his Maine home has been classified as an accidental drowning.
The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife says the body of Maxwell Brawn was recovered early Sunday evening from a pond on his uncle’s property in the town of St. Albans. The property is next door to the boy’s home.
The boy’s body was found by a Maine Warden Service diver in water at least 7 feet deep. Authorities say clues led them to the pond after the boy was reported missing shortly after 4 p.m.
Wardens say the state medical examiner’s office conclusion of accidental drowning is supported by investigators’ findings. They say no charges are expected.
