BIDDEFORD — Hot bats and strong pitching led the Biddeford Tigers to a 6- 0 shutout win over visiting Bonny Eagle on Monday afternoon.

Kirsten Lebreux produced in both the circle and at the plate. Lebreux pitched a complete game shutout, allowing no runs off five hits, while collecting four strikeouts. She also hit an RBI single in the third inning for Biddeford.

Erin Martin led the Tigers at the dish, getting two RBIs on three hits, including two singles and a double.

Brook Davis provided the offensive highlight of the day when she smacked a two-run home run in the first inning.

Biddeford improved to 10-3 on the year, while Bonny Eagle dropped to 6-8.

Thornton Academy 2, Windham 1

A strong pitching performance and timely hits led host TA over Windham Monday afternoon.

Louissa Colucci took the circle for the Trojans, pitching seven innings and allowing one run on six hits, while striking out seven batters.

TA would get an RBI single from Jenica Botting in the second along with an RBI single from Kaylee Burns in the third to secure the win.

Wells 5, Sacopee Valley 0

Sam Brogue led the Warriors with a two-run single in the first inning and later scoring in the sixth of a leadoff double. Olivia Durfee had a two-run single of her own in the sixth inning.

Anya Chase got the win in the circle for Wells, pitching a complete game shutout with 10 strike outs and only one walk.

Noble 14, Cheverus 2

Noble blew past visiting Cheverus Monday afternoon. Shaughnessey Gower pitched a complete game for the Knights, allowing two runs on only four hits, while striking out 10.

Seven different Knights were repeat hitters, along with five earning extra base hits.

Tyler Chastney led Noble at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three singles, a double and two RBIs. Mackenzie Aleva had a strong performance at the dish, going 2- for-5 with a three-run homer in the third inning.

Noble improves to 8-6 on the year.

Baseball

Greely 2, Wells 1

Wells dropped a tight matchup with visiting Greely Monday.

Tied 1-1 in the seventh, Greely got the game-winning run on a bases-loaded walk.

Wells’ Cody Cousins took the loss on the mound, while the Warriors only managed to get one run on five hits. Greely earned two runs on six hits on the afternoon.

Thornton Academy 14, Portland 6

TA took an 11-1 lead into halftime as they beat Portland Monday afternoon.

Amanda Cyr led the Trojans with four goals, while Jules Grondin added three and an assist. Faith Sinclair and Hannah McAlary scored two goals each, while Paige LeBlanc, Liz Bell and Alanna Pettaway added one apiece.

Goalie Meaghan Stephenson recorded seven saves in the win.

TA improves to 8-2 on the year and will face defending Class A Champion Marshwood on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Massabesic 5, Sanford 0

Massabesic cruised to a win over rival Sanford Monday afternoon.

Massabesic’s Acadia Byther defeated Maddy McFarland 6-0, 6-1, while teammate Thyme Whitten topped Corinne Lawrence 6-1, 6-1. Emily Scavoni would then beat Alli Plante 6-0, 6-0.

Massabesic’s doubles pair of Michelle Radley and Joanna LaFrance beat Alaina Parison and Hannah Miller 6-3, 6-2, while Alaina Poulin and Katie Dupuis pushed past Jenna Garnsey and Kim Works 6-2, 6-2.

York 4, Kennebunk/Wells 1

Kennebunk/Wells dropped its match against visiting Monday.

Rosemary Campanella was the Rams’ lone winner, earning a 6-1, 6-1 victory in her singles match against York’s Mia Briggs.

Charlie Bigbee fell 6-0, 6-0 to Sarah Carley and Logan Bard lost 6-1, 6-0.

Kennebunk/Wells’ doubles pair of Olivia Aiken and Amelia Nelson fell in three sets to York’s Maggie Schofield and Jenna Healy. Aiken and Nelson won the first set 6-4 but dropped the second two 6-1 and 7-6.

York’s Sophia Eytel and Robin Jutvas beat Mary Kate Luddy and Grace Mastrangelo in their doubles match 6-1, 6-4.
