On Friday, May 13, 28 Jobs for Maine Graduate students from Freeport High School joined others in the second annual JMG Spring Into Philanthropy Walk at the Back Cove in Portland. The students raised an impressive $5,600 for the Locker Project, which connects food-insecure children in Maine with nourishing food to improve their learning capacity, health and future. General manager Leslie Garey, left, and bartender/manager Belinda Derrico, were getting ready for a busy night at the newly opened Lobster Cooker at 39 Main St. in Freeport one night last week, with its outdoor deck open and the Red Sox game on its big screens inside. The Lobster Cooker is open 11 a.m.-11 p.m., seven days a week.

The grounds of Freeport High School have been invaded by pink flamingos, used as a fundraiser for the school’s Project Graduation 2017. Students from JANE’s Busstop day care helped the Eureka Center Committee transfer all the plants on Thursday, May 19, for the Eureka Plant Sale that took place on Saturday and Sunday.
