I support Laurie Dobson, who is running for state representative in Kennebunkport and parts of Kennebunk/Biddeford.

I met Laurie at the Maine Democratic Convention. We are strong supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ ideas. I was one of the speakers advocating for him at the convention.

Laurie spoke very eloquently to the convention against the use of superdelegates. She called for an end to the suppression of voters’ rights. Maine is a leader in voting rights, even granting them to people in prison. We must work to expand people’s opportunities to vote, not hinder or reduce them. Laurie and I support Ranked Choice Voting. She is helping sponsor an upcoming event in Kennebunkport for this.

These are the most important things Laurie supports:

• Getting money out of politics. She supports Move to Amend and WolfPac.

• Women’s reproductive rights and their right to choose.

• She was against the war in Iraq, and denounced it in 2002 before other candidates did.

Laurie is a leader and a visionary who acts in our behalf.
