BIDDEFORD — Jennie L. Petit, 71, of Biddeford, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Gosnell Hospice in Scarborough.

She was born in Biddeford on Oct. 14, 1944, the daughter of Leo and Blanche Garneau Provost, and was educated in Biddeford schools. On Sept. 11, 1970, she married George H. Petit in Biddeford.

Mrs. Petit worked for four years with Kesslen Shoe in Kennebunk, 30 years with Corning Component in Kennebunk and AVX in Biddeford. She last worked part-time with Rite Aid in Kennebunk.

Jennie enjoyed knitting, quilting and making Swedish blankets.

She is survived by: her husband of 45 years of Biddeford; three daughters, Mary Pelletier and Vinny of Biddeford, Christine Howland and Glenn of Acton, and Catherine Petit of Friday Harbor, Washington; one son, Donald Petit of Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters, Claire Corbeil of Southington, Connecticut, Claudette Perrigo of Biddeford, and Priscilla Huot and Robert of Biddeford; six grandchildren, Crystal Hoyt, Josh Andrews, Ember Earl, Henry Pelletier, Allyson Petit and Thomas Petit; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, May 27, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Hope Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
