LISBON
Tyler Halls pitched a one-hitter as the Lisbon High School baseball team hustled to a 5-3 Mountain Valley Conference win over Mountain Valley in the regular-season finale for both squads.
The 11-5 Greyhounds, who had lost their past two contests, are currently sixth in the Class C South standings. If the position holds, Lisbon will host a preliminary game, date, time and opponent to be announced.
Halls struck out 12 and walked six. The lone Mountain Valley (5-11) hit came from Cam Godbois, who singled in two runs in the fifth inning to tie the game, 2-2. Lisbon answered with three runs in the bottom of the fifth for a 5-2 advantage.
Nick Austin drove in two runs and was 3-for-3 at the plate in the win, while Austin Fournier went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Halls, Nick Lerette and Noah Austin had two hits each.
Tom Fitzgerald went the distance for the Falcons with three walks and one strikeout. He allowed 14 hits.
RICHMOND 9
RANGELEY 10
Kyle LaRochelle had three hits and picked up four RBIs as the host Lakers dropped the Bobcats in East-West Conference action on Friday.
Ricky Thompson ripped a grand-slam home run in the sixth inning and earned the mound win for Rangeley (6-5).
Tyler Soucy and Danny Stewart had two hits each for Richmond, which had its seven-game winning streak snapped and fell to 9-5.
The Bobcats host Valley today at 4 p.m.
ERSKINE 3
MORSE 0
Erskine Academy (12-3) received a solid start from pitcher Nate Howard en route to a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win at Bath on Friday.
The Shipbuilders fell to 4- 11 and visits Leavitt today at 4 p.m.
Howard went five innings, allowing two hits. He struck out 10. Zack Glidden relieved and tossed two scoreless frames for the save.
Caleb Barden had the big blow for Erskine, a two-run double.
Softball
RANGELEY — Meranda Martin had two hits and pitched a complete game as Richmond improved to 14-0 with an E-WC 23-3 rout of Rangeley on Friday.
The Bobcats, who host Valley today at 4 p.m., scored 15 runs in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach.
Martin struck out seven, walked two and allowed five hits for the win, and helped herself with two singles and two RBIs. Sydney Tilton also singled twice, doubled and drove in three runs.
Michaela Shorey and Natalie Brooks had a double each for the Lakers (4-7).
ERSKINE 6
MORSE 3
The Shipbuilders held a 3- 1 lead entering the seventh inning, but Erskine Academy (8-7) reeled of five runs for the KVAC win at Bath on Friday.
Morse, which dropped to 7-8 and visits Leavitt today at 4 p.m., received a single, triple and two runs from Hope Faulkingham. Marissa Parks doubled, and Meghan Stover and Ali Gagnon each singled.
But, Erskine pitcher Kayla Hodgkins struck out eight and belted a big two-run single to bring her team back. Mackenzie Gayer picked up two hits and drove in a pair.
Parks struck out six, walked four and permitted six hits.
WISCASSET 1
OAK HILL 10
The host Raiders received 13 strikeouts and two walks from pitcher Makayla Nadeau en route to an MVC win at Wales on Friday.
The Wolverines completed their season with a 2-14 mark, while Oak Hill improved to 12-4.
August Moore pitched for Wiscasset with five strikeouts and three walks. Stephanie Jones and Leah Potter each singled.
Nadeau had three hits, including a triple, while Grace Sabine homered and singled. Sara Noel chipped in three singles.
Boys lacrosse
WATERVILLE — Messalonskee scored the first eight goals of the game to stun Brunswick, 16-12, in KVAC action at Thomas College in Waterville on Friday.
The Eagles, who improved to 8-3, beat the Dragons (9-2) for the first time in five years.
Messalonskee led 9-3 after a quarter, thanks to three goals from Aiden Glover, who finished with five tallies. But, the Eagles held Brunswick scoreless in the second quarter and claimed a 13-3 halftime lead.
Brunswick, which hosts Maranacook/Winthrop tonight at 6:30 p.m., made a run in the second half, but the Eagles held on.
Austin Pelletier and Connor Smith paced the hosts with four goals each.
Girls lacrosse
SOUTH PARIS — Ronni Pelletier and Erin Tome struck for three goals each as Mt. Ararat downed Oxford Hills, 10-7 Saturday morning in KVAC play.
The Eagles improved to 5-6 and hosts Lewiston on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Isa Blessington chipped in a pair of tallies in the win, with Emily Welch and Shannon Harty adding a goal each.
In goal for Mt. Ararat was Casi Perow, who had seven saves.
Katey Bourget, Hannah Hartrett, Ari Greere, Haley Wakefield, Ally Hodey, Sidney Jackson and Caroline Burns scored for the Vikings, with netminder Sam Bickford turning aside eight shots.
