WAVERLY, Iowa — The University of Southern Maine women’s 4×100- meter relay team set the school record Thursday during the first day of competition at the 2016 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field National Championships being held at Wartburg College.
The relay combination of senior Nicole Kirk, freshman Heather Kendall, junior Liz O’Neal (Brunswick/Mt. Ararat High School) and senior Peyton Dostie turned in a time of 47.35 seconds to eclipse their seven-day old record time of 47.62 set at the ECAC Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships last week.
The Huskies’ time was the ninth quickest among the teams competing.
