BRUNSWICK — The U14 girls team for the Brunswick Soccer Club competed in the Amherst Memorial Day Classic over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. There were 14 teams competing in their bracket from across New England. The girls competed in three games during regulation play, defeating War wick Soccer Club from Rhode Island, 3-0, besting Rindge Chaos Soccer Club from New Hampshire, 2-0, and tying Hampshire United from New Hampshire, 1-1 to finish in first place in their bracket and advance to the semifinals. In the semifinal game, Brunswick defeated World Cup Soccer Club of Greater Nashua of New Hampshire, 3-2 to advance to the championship game. The girls battled Queen City Football Club from Vermont and played an incredible game, but lost by one heart-breaking goal, finishing as the tournament’s runner-up.
