Girl Scouts from Troop 3222 of Pownal recently were awarded their Silver Award at the Girl Scouts of Maine Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony. The Silver Award is the highest award a Girl Scout, in grades 6-8, can earn and gives girls a chance to show they are leaders who are organized, determined and dedicated to improving their community.

Melissa Hewson of Brunswick stocks up on whoopie pies last Thursday  for her son Riley’s 13t birthday party at the new Wicked Whoopies location on 100 Main St. in Freeport, which opened for business the day before. Wicked Whoopies had been located for years at 32 Main St., but the new location is a much larger shop, across the street from L.L. Bean.
