Farmers market opens

The Yarmouth Farmers Market has opened for the season. It will operate in front of 317 Main on Thursdays 3-6 p.m. through Sept. 29.

Vendors for the 2016 season include Deri Farm of North Yarmouth (produce), Spring Brook Farm of Cumberland (produce and eggs), Pleasant Valley Acres of Cumberland (produce), Andrews Farm of Gardiner (produce), Piper Ranch of Buckfield (grass fed beef, chicken and eggs), From The Country Farm of Leeds (goat’s milk cheese, yogurt and soaps), Stillbrook Acres (A2 cow’s milk), Rustic 313 (frittata and crostata), Night Moves Bread + Pie of Portland, Maple’s Gelato of Yarmouth, Spun Bakery of Freeport (fresh baked goods), Cookies Direct of Yarmouth, Cantrell Seafood of Topsham, Locally Sauced Burritos, Kamasouptra of Freeport (soups), and Diana Brown Natural Designs of Yarmouth.

317 Main will once again provide live acoustic music on the porch throughout the summer and welcome non¬profit organizations into the mix to promote their initiatives. Look for updates on Facebook.

Clam festival

volunteers needed

The Yarmouth Recycling Committee is looking for volunteers to assist them at the Yarmouth Clam Festival Recycling Booth, July 15-17. Those at the booth will be collecting returnables, recyclables and food waste (for composting). The site will be staffed with four sorters that will separate these items.

Volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts on Friday, July 15, between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.;

Saturday, July 16, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, July 17, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. A sign-up page is available www.yarmouth.me.us.
