Lisbon High School baseball coach Randy Ridley saved starting pitcher Tyler Halls in the hopes that his Greyhounds had the chance to face third-seeded Madison in a Class C South baseball quarterfinal on Thursday.

After downing No. 11 Carrabec on Tuesday behind Lucas Francis, Halls made Ridley’s plan pay off, tossing a complete game one-hitter in No. 6 Lisbon’s 3-0 win.

Halls struck out eight and walked five. Madison’s only hit came from Chase Malloy in the third inning with two outs.

The win sends 13-5 Lisbon to the semifinals against rival and second-seeded St. Dom’s on Saturday at 11 a.m. Madison finished 14-3.
