Swimmers from the Long Reach Swim Club of the Bath Area Family YMCA recently received YMCA National rankings from this past season.
“Every YMCA in the U.S. sends in meet results to a central site from dual meets up to and including regional and national championships. The top 16 lists are compiled from all meets,” said LRSC coach Jay Morissette.
LRSC had two National winners. Nate Samson was first in the Senior boys (15 and older) in the 200 IM in 1:50.40.
Caitlin Tycz set a National’s record in the 100 butterfly with a winning time of 52.43.
In 11-12 boys, the 200 medley relay team of Evan Willertz, Erik Linseisen, Devin Lamb and Nicholas Holland were 13th. Willertz, Caleb Williams, Holland and Eric Time teamed up in the 400 freestyle relay for sixth place in 3:57.82, and the 200 free relay squad of Willertz, Williams, Holland and Linseisen are 13th nationally. Willertz was 10th in the 100 backstroke, and Linseisen finished seventh in the butterfly and ninth in the 100 individual medley.
In 13-14 boys, Matt Yost, Dominic Marco, Robert Hyde and Nicco Bartone were fifth in the 400 free relay in 3:31.65. The same foursome finished 10th in the 400 medley relay, and Brandon Johnson joined Hyde, Marco and Yost to take 15th in the 200 free relay.
In the Senior boys, Samson claimed second in three events — the 100 free, 100 butterfly and 100 back — along with third-place performances in the 100 breaststroke and 50 free.
LRSC girls
In the Senior girls, Sonia Lin, Emma Blair, Ann Tolan and Tycz teamed up for second in the 200 free relay, and the same four finished 14th in the 400 free relay. Lynsie Russell joined Lin, Tycz and Tolan for fifth place in the 200 medley relay, and the same foursome were 12th in the 400 medley relay.
Russell also took seventh in the 200 back and 10th in the 1,650 free, Blair was seventh in the 50 free, Tycz second in the 200 butterfly, fifth in the 200 IM, and eighth in the 50 free and 200 free. Tolan was third in the 50 free and seventh in the 100 free.
In the 13-14 girls, Marjorie McLeod, Haily Harper, Olivia Harper and Alexandra Morse are 11th in the 400 medley relay, while the same four are 13th in the 200 free relay and 15th in the 400 free relay.
