SOUTH PORTLAND — Beacon Hospice urgently needs volunteers to provide companionship to terminally ill patients and their families from Saco to Ogunquit. Beacon Hospice specifically needs veterans willing to visit fellow veterans, pet therapy providers and people who wish to provide companionship to patients and families at home or in facilities. Also, people who scrapbook or enjoy graphic work are needed to make life charts for people with dementia.

Hospice Volunteer training classes are free and start June 15, continuing for seven consecutive Wednesdays with graduation on July 27. The Beacon Hospice South Portland office is located near the Maine Mall. For more information, call Donna Teague at 772-0929.
