Waterboro voters returned incumbent Dennis Abbott to the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday with 388 votes and elected former Planning Board Chairman Tim Neill to the five-member board with 260 votes.

Ted Doyle earned 214 votes in the three-way race for two, three-year terms.

Voters in Waterboro also agreed to hire a second York County Sheriff ’s Office contract deputy for the town by a vote of 392-164, the first part of a two-part approval process.

At Waterboro’s Town Meeting, set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Massabesic Middle School, voters must approve funding for the deputy position before the proposal can move forward.

In Arundel, voters returned two incumbent selectmen to office. Velma Jones Hayes earned 688 votes and Mark Nedeau earned 687, while Noel Homes earned 341 votes in unofficial totals.
