BATH

The 15th annual Blue and White Golf Classic was held at the Bath Golf Club on Friday. Over 140 sponsors and 200 golfers contributed $42,000 to the Morse High School Scholarship Fund in the name of this year’s 50th Morse High School reunion class, the Class of 1966. This included $11,000 toward the Elford “Brud” Stover Scholarship Fund.

Opening festivities around the first tee included the recognition of this year’s Morse High School scholarship recipients, the playing of “The Blue and the White” and the National Anthem by the Morse High School band along with the naming of this year’s Honorary Chairpersons of the Blue and White Golf Committee, Dr. Patrica Ames and Paul Johnson.

Ames, named posthumously, was recognized for her unflagging support of both the Bath area community and Morse High School in her lifetime. An outstanding social studies teacher at Morse High School for many years, Ames was also responsible for starting the unique student/citizen government, the SCLC, and establishing the Dr. Patricia Ames Distinguished Teacher Award and the SCLC Mainsail Award.

Johnson, also a strong supporter of Bath and Morse, has served on the Bath School Board with distinction.
