WINDHAM ( AP) — Maine fire officials say no one was injured when fire destroyed a group home in Windham Saturday night.
Authorities say the Beaulieu Drive home was engulfed in flames when they arrived at 9:42 p.m.
The Portland Press Herald reports that a caretaker and two residents made it out of the home safely.
Windham Fire Chief Brent Libby says the cause of the blaze does not appear to be suspicious, but the state fire marshal’s office will investigate.
Libby says it took 40 minutes to extinguish the blaze, with the assistance of firefighters from three neighboring communities.
