This is the first of two tours focused on the contributions of women in the Pejepscot region; the second will be on Aug. 14. This tour, which covers Maine and Pleasant Streets and some of the Northwest Brunswick neighborhood, focuses on women who were in city government, entrepreneurs, employees of downtown manufacturing firms, nurses, nuns, teachers, and more. For this women’s history tour of downtown, meet at 1pm at the Chamberlain Museum located at 226 Maine St. in Brunswick, where admission will be collected. The tour is limited to 20 people; call Pejepscot Historical Society at (207) 729-6606 or email info@pejepscothistorical.org before noon on Friday, June 26 to register.
