Concert at Dundee
The Hurricanes will perform from 6:30-8 p.m. at Dundee Park on Wednesday, July 13. There is free admission to the park after 5 p.m. and the concert is free. Concessions will be available. Rain date will be Aug. 10 or 17. Visit www.windhammaine.us/155/Parks-Recreation for more information.

Legion Auxiliary
American Legion Post 148 Auxiliary will not hold its regular meeting in July, but will be making snacks and treats for those attending the Rick Charette concert at Dundee Park on Wednesday, Aug. 3.

Broadway & Beyond
On Saturday, July 9, at 7 p.m., two of the Lakes Region’s favorite singers, Kelly Caufield and Matthew Small, will return to perform Broadway & Beyond at the North Windham Union Church. They will be accompanied again by Dr. Laura Artesani, associate professor of music at the University of Maine. Tickets will be sold at the door and are $12 for adults and $10 for students, children, and seniors. Tickets are also available in advance on-line at www.mwamconcerts.com. Chapter-book discussion
On Wednesdays through Aug. 24 (except for Aug. 17), from 4-5 p.m., librarians will be reading 2016-17 Maine Student Book Award books and centering each chapter-book discussion around a specific MSBA title. Veterans Coffee Break
Every Wednesday from 9-11 a.m., veterans are welcome to stop in for coffee and socializing at the Windham Veterans Center. This weekly event has been well received. Come on in and cool off.

Free clothes
All men’s and ladies’ long pants will be free at the North Windham Church UCC thrift shop this month. Men’s suit jackets will be $1 each. The shop opens Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3 p.m. and is open Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon.

Veteran Service Officer
From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, Veterans Service Officer Jerry Smith from the VA Lewiston Office will be at the Windham Veterans Center. You do not need an appointment, but if you have questions, Jerry may be contacted at 207 783-5306. Stop in and find out about your benefits.

Bean supper
A baked bean supper will be held on Saturday, July 23, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Windham Veterans Center, sponsored by the American Legion Post 148. Menu includes beans, salads and casseroles, hot dogs, desserts and beverage for $8. Under age 12 eat free!.For more information, call 892-1306 or 892-7449.

Blood drive
A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the Windham Veterans Center. It is sponsored by Windham Veterans Association, VFW Post 10643 and Field-Allen American Legion Post 148 with support from Coldwell Banker Team Real Estate. Call 1-800-RED-CROSS for an appointment.

PTA yard sale
Windham PTA is planning its summer summer yard sale for Aug. 27 at the Windham Veterans Center. The group is accepting donations of gently used and clean items from now to Aug. 26. For more information, contact Mel Oldakowski at 205-0121.

Medicare help?
On Tuesday, July 19, the Southern Maine Agency on Aging will offer a Medicare seminar at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 919 Roosevelt Trail. “Welcome to Medicare” is scheduled from 10 a.m.-noon. One-on-one counseling with volunteer Mediare advocates also will be available from 9 a.m.-noon. The seminar and counseling are intended to help you sort through Medicare options, answer questions and to help you enroll. In addition, counseling on tax and rent rebates, food stamps and fuel assistance can be arranged. Please call the Southern Maine Agency on Aging to register or to make a one-on-one appointment with an advocate at 207-396-6500 or 1-800-427-7411. Seminar walk-ins can usually be accommodated. Further opportunities for these services will occur monthly on the first and third Tuesdays at the same times and location.
